Freshman Caroline Cooper went 4 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI, and Junior Armanda Venezia collected 2 RBI with a double and her second home run in as many days to lead the Lynx past Huntingdon by an 8-1 score on Saturday in Atlanta. Rhodes pounded out 16 hits in the game, giving sophomore Sara Bowen plenty of cushion in the circle, as she picked up her first win of the season. With the loss to Emory in the second game of the day, Rhodes is 3-1 on the season and will play Emory and Huntingdon again on Sunday at Emory.

Huntingdon got on the board first, with a run in the top of the 3rd, but the Lynx answered with 2 runs in the bottom half of the inning on a 2-out RBI singe by Bowen followed by an RBI double by Junior Jennifer Whatley. Rhodes added 3 more in the bottom of the 4th, when Freshman Elise Suna and Sophomore Cindy Bitters started the inning with back to back singles. Suna scored on an RBI single by Freshman Kelli Zomer, setting the table for a bases-clearing 2 RBI double to left center by Cooper.

Venezia homered to right-center to lead off the 5th and give the Lynx a 6-1 lead, and the Lynx would add 2 insurance runs in the 6th with an RBI double from Junior Rebekah Moore and a 2-out RBI double from Venezia.

Bowen fanned 11 Huntingdon hitters and gave up 6 hits, earning the win in her first start of the season.
